  “Hmmm, would you two want to meet up with me in Benter Wednesday for dinner or whatever afterwards at Black Jack?” she asked them.

  “What choice do I have when she’s in charge at Black Jack.”

  “You didn’t sign anything for her to be like your representative, did you?” Cherise asked.

  “No. I haven’t signed anything. I’m supposed to go over things with Mike and Jacoby.”

  “Well, you watch that snake. You stay in complete control. In fact, you should ensure that no one owns you, or your name or your talent. Be a free agent,” Cherise said.

  “Yeah, you don’t need to actually have an agent representative or sign anything that says you can only sing and get paid by Black Jack. You keep it so you can come and go as you please,” Leeann added.

  “Hmm, I guess when you think about it, I’m not looking to like hit it big and go on the road and stuff, I’m looking to feed this inner desire to sing on stage and be part of a band, or have a place to perform, and to get paid for it makes it perfect. She smiled wide. “Excuse me a minute,” she said and turned, headed toward them but they all looked her over. She remembered their comments weeks ago about the short shorts, the tank top, and bandanna around her neck. “Hi,” she said to them.

  Keller pulled her into his arms. “What the hell are you wearing?” he asked and suckled against her neck as she ran her palms up his chest and over his shoulders. He squeezed her ass and she pressed against him.

The hoots and hollers went around the room and she chuckled. But as she hugged him around the neck she spotted Jake and Crespy, and they looked downright pissed off.

  “Do you believe this shit? She’s screwing them,” Jake said to Crespy.

  “We saw her first. I want her. I don’t give a fuck who those guys think they are. They’re too fucking old, too.”

  “They’re retired military and own the MMA training gym in town. Madison was fucking the doctor, Johnny, for a while.”

  “Yeah, and she’s pissed that Ivy is with them. Which means she could be on board to help fuck things up, don’t you think? You know, make room for us to move in?” Crespy asked and took a sip from his beer.

  Crespy leaned forward. “The drugs?”

  “We’re heading out, sweetie,” Jake said to her and smiled down at her.

  Crespy placed his hand on her shoulder. “Maybe we’ll see you Wednesday night at Black Jack?” Crespy said.

  “I’m supposed to meet Madison and then Jacoby and Mike, too,” she said and went to step back but they both kept her in place.
