  “You hurt me,” she said to him.

  He scrunched his eyes and she could see his swollen nose, the black eyes, and she wondered if she did that to him. His lip was cut, he wore his pants and a knife in a sheath on his hip. In her mind she imagined jumping up, grabbing it and sticking him with it. Then came the pain. She felt the prick to her neck. “Ecstasy is good, it helps those defiant thoughts and words,” he said to her, and she was so confused.

  What was real? What was she imagining? She didn’t know and then the crazy thoughts and images filled her head again. Her body jerked, he yanked her around and she felt the strikes, heard his words demanding she submit and say she was his. She screamed in anger, still not even knowing what was real or fake. She lashed out, heard his roar, then what sounded like alarms or sirens going off, then gunfire.

  She gripped something cold, then felt pain in her side, in her arm, then her hand as she reached for whatever was striking her body. She had a hold of it and screamed out and struck with it. Then she felt the hits against her body, then gunfire. The yelling and all the pain stopped but her mind continued to be a blur as tears fell. She blinked and blinked.

  “Genesis! Genesis, stop fighting me. We’re here to save you. We have to get you out of here. Fucking listen!”

  Zedock?

  “Drugs. He drugged her.”

  “She’s all fucked up. God damn it. Look at her body, she’s bleeding.”

  “She killed the fucker before I had the chance.”

  She was hearing the conversation, felt something go over her like a sheet or something, and she moaned and tried resisting. They kept telling her to calm down and just keep her eyes closed. She didn’t know what was happening. They were in the darkness, then suddenly there was an explosion, and a bright light of fire illumined what appeared to be a beach. She gripped onto whoever held her. “I won’t ever be yours, Kasmul. I hate you. Don’t touch me. I won’t be yours. I won’t be yours.” She cried and then those images flashed through her mind. She heard yelling and then felt like she was being restrained until darkness overtook her vision.

  “We don’t want to hurt her!” Mills yelled at the men.

  “We have to give her something. She’s not comprehending what’s going on. She has a stab wound, is swollen and beaten everywhere, and will injure herself more. She grabbed the fucking knife with her hand as Kasmul stabbed at her,” Divo said to them as he set up the syringe and then grabbed her arm that Freeman was holding down on the boat and struck her with it. She slowly started to relax and not fight, but continued to moan.

  “Jesus, holy God,” Mills said as he and the team held her and started looking over her injuries. Everyone was quiet, they just helped to bandage her up and determine what injuries were the worst or if they were life-threatening. She was a beaten, battered mess, and Mills felt tears fill his eyes. He would never forget the sounds of her screams, the sight of her naked, beaten body, or how Kasmul started to stab her and she grabbed that knife with her hand. She was fighting for her life, and Kasmul was a beaten mess. His nose broken, his lips cut, and it was all from Genesis as she resisted him hurting her and trying to kill her. She didn’t know what was going on, and even now as she lay there, tears rolling from her closed eyes, and her body jerking from the effects of the drugs. He didn’t know how she survived.

  “You got to her in time. You focus on that. She’s alive, because you fought to get to her like she helped to save all of you,” Stone said to them.

  Everyone remained quiet after that and were fully affected by what they saw, and by what transpired. She was alive, and they would all help her get through this together.

  Epilogue

  Genesis opened her eyes, her body shaking, like it had been the past week. The effects of the drugs were working their way out of her system and it was taking time. The first week had been terrible from what Denzel explained. She was strapped down after causing her stitches in her hand and her side to rip open. She suffered from nightmares and was withdrawn, and felt like she couldn’t trust anyone. Her men were affected by that. She refused to see anyone. Not Faith, Harper, Leeann, or anyone from Cherry Hill. She would tell her men to leave her alone. That she wasn’t good enough for them because she didn’t know if Kasmul raped her when he held her prisoner. They didn’t seem to care and Zedock ordered her to stop the bullshit and accept their love and commitment to her. That was this morning. Now here she was, alone in the room, shaking uncontrollably, but no longer strapped down like some psych patient. Tears filled her eyes.

  She thought about her life. About being a spy and an informant imbedded in a terrorist business world, which ultimately caused her to be raped and held prisoner. She escaped that because of her will to live and to have a life. Then she fell in love and even that was taken from her. She was brought back into that world of being a prisoner and maybe even a sexual object for Kasmul to have and do as he wished with. He slept with her, held her naked body in his arms and she would never know if he raped her or not. That was difficult to digest. She loved her men so much. Why would they want her when she was raped and beaten by that man a second time?

  More tears fell, but this ache in her gut, her belly was growing stronger the more the drugs passed from her system. She wanted Zedock, Freeman, Denzel, and Mills in her life forever. She wanted a happily ever after. She wanted to be held by them, loved by them, and they said they wanted that, too. So how could she get past the pain, the trauma? How?

  She heard the door open to the room and saw Mills. The tears rolled from her eyes and she turned away from him. She closed her eyes and denied what she really wanted because she was too scared to let go and trust anyone. He didn’t leave the room though. He didn’t say a word until one of the others came and he kissed her cheek. “I love you, baby. See you in a little bit,” he said before he left the room.

  Day in and day out until they released her from the hospital, she said barely anything, yet inside this feeling, this fight grew stronger. She was battling herself and the men seemed to understand that, although they flipped out a few times demanding she talk to them and let them help her. They were frustrated and she understood that, but she needed time to process things, to get rid of the fears, the unwillingness to need them in order to move on with life.

  One day, Charlie, Louis and Voight’s sister, a therapist came to see her and offered to talk. Genesis had been resistant, but soon she found herself confiding in Charlie, and seeing her as a friend, not just a therapist. She helped her process her emotions, to heal from the trauma, which she honestly said would take a lot of time, but that she didn’t need to do it alone. Her need to be with the men intensified. She was healing well, and was sitting in her living room looking out the front window when the pickup truck pulled up. As each man got out of the truck, Mills with flowers, the others carrying beer and pizza boxes, she took in the sight of them. So handsome, and all hers if she could just let them back into her heart, into her soul. What was there to fear at this point? They knew she had been a spy. They knew what she went through, and they were there when she nearly died, and under the influence of heavy drugs—and stabbed and killed Kasmul. They never left her side. Told her every day in the hospital how much they loved her, even though she didn’t reply and tried to ignore them and push them away. They looked somber until she got up, opened the door, and let them in.

  “What’s all this?” she asked, barefoot and wearing a cotton dress that hugged her body like a glove.

  “You need to eat, and we said we would bring lunch to you since you didn’t want to go out,” Zedock said. They filtered inside and put down the pie boxes and the beers and looked at her, making sure she was okay or maybe seeing if they could read her mood. The scent of their colognes, the love in their actions, hit her hard.

  She walked closer so Mills showed her the flowers he got her. “I love them, Mills. Thank you,” she said to him, and she placed her hand on his forearm and stood up on tiptoes to kiss his lips.
He was tense, but then he softened his body and she released his lips and hugged him around the waist. They were all gathered around her. “I love you guys so much. I appreciate everything you’ve done for me and keep doing. I’ll get through his because of all of you. I hate being apart from you, I do.”

  “You don’t need to be apart from us,” Freeman told her. Mills caressed her back and then slid his palm to her ass and squeezed her there. She gasped and looked up at him.

  “We love you. None of what happened matters, because the end result is that we found you, you found us, and together we’re a family. We aren’t ever going to let you go, so stop pushing us away, and let us love you, baby,” Mills told her. Tears filled her eyes.

  “I want that, too. I’m not going to push you away anymore. I just need patience,” she said, and he slowly started to move his hand when she reached back and squeezed Mills’ hand over her ass cheek. He squinted. “Doesn’t mean I don’t want you guys touching me and kissing me. I need you so much I ache. I really do. I want to make love to you. I want to be in your arms all the time, I really do,” she admitted.

  “We love you so much, Genesis,” Denzel said to her.

  “I’m starving, so maybe lunch then dessert?” she asked, and winked.

  They all smiled.

  “Baby, you better eat fast, and get enough food in you to be energized for the rest of the day and night,” Freeman said to her as they started handing out beers and opening up the pizza boxes, passing out slices on paper plates.

  “Why is that, Freeman?” she asked, accepting a piece of pizza from him.

  He slid his palm to her ass and leaned down to kiss her lips. “Because we are going to be making love to you all day and all night long. In fact, this might be the only meal you get for quite some time.”

  He kissed her and she chuckled as her heart soared and her pussy ached with need. She was more than ready to make love to them, and to move on with her life. It was going to take time, but she wasn’t alone like she had been in the past. She had her lovers, her best friends, her family, and she had Cherry Hill. Now, life had begun.
