  “An extended period of time,” Paulo told her and then reached out and curled a long lock of her hair around his fingers. When she stared at him, looking up so sweet and sexy, he pushed the contact a little further. He eased his hand higher and then under her hair to her head as he leaned closer to whisper to her.   “Russian isn’t my thing, but obviously it’s Fina’s,” Donata said and raised her eyebrows up and down.

  Fina shook her head.

  “I don’t think it’s a good idea. Plus, my luck with men lately hasn’t exactly been great, and those three have women throwing themselves at them. I mean, look right now,” Fina said and they all turned to see two brunette’s trying to talk to Paulo, Hadeon, and Andriy.

  “For tonight, anyway,” Fina said sounding disgusted to her own ears. Fina swallowed and turned back toward her friends.

  She pushed her long, blonde hair behind her shoulder. “I don’t want to be just another woman they’ve screwed. I don’t sleep around. You guys know that.”

  “Sleeping with those three would definitely be life altering, that is for sure,” Alessa said to them.

  “You’re not kidding. They’re beyond the silent brooding type. They’re hard, like they’ve been through shit in their lives that would make the averag

  “I know what you mean. It’s like there’s this look in their eyes. Almost like they aren’t fully there, or maybe guarded,” Fina told them.

  “You like them,” Alessa stated.

  “The attraction isn’t the problem, Alessa, it’s me and my streak of bad luck. And Brian,” Fina admitted.

  “Fina, seriously? How could you let a relationship from three years ago bother you like this still? You’re a stronger woman than you were then. You’ve accomplished so much, and like the rest of us, you don’t need a man to succeed in life or to provide for you. Brian was an abusive asshole,” Donata told her.

  “I know, but it’s just those little phrases in the back of my head that come back sometimes and make me put on the brakes.”

  Alda caressed her shoulder. “Is that why you didn’t sleep with Mario and Johnny in D.R.?” she asked.

  “Oh yeah, I remember that. Kind of weird that they are here, too, but would be worse I suppose if you did sleep with them,” Donata stated.

  “Way worse,” Alda added, and Fina agreed.

  “Rayanna, Caprice, and Gisella, even Bella followed their hearts and just let go, and look what happened to them. Look at how much their men love them?” Alda added.

  “They’re bosses. Hadeon, Paulo, and Andriy are soldiers, heavies in the Russian, I repeat, Russian mob. You’ve heard the stories just as I have. Russians are crazy, and they don’t back down from anything. It’s scary stuff,” Alessa added.

  “Exactly. Do I need that? I don’t want to be used. Sure, I know the sex would be incredible, but if it didn’t work out, where does it leave me? Especially during times like this when we all get together with the families? I wouldn’t come around. I’d have to move on, because they wouldn’t be effected like I would,” Fina said.

  “Screw that. They would have to look elsewhere to hang out because you come first around here with all of us,” Alda said.

  “Oh God, here comes Hadeon,” Donata said to Fina.

  Before she could turn around, Hadeon approached.
