She chuckled as he leaned closer, and she slapped her palm against his chest and leaned back. “Nice try.”

Heracio looked her over with hunger. It was going to be hell letting her leave here today. He cupped her cheek and she closed her eyes a moment. She felt the attraction despite wanting to fight it. “Let’s sit down and talk,” he said, then slid his palm from her cheek to her hand and led her to the sofa. She took a seat in the middle. He sat on her right, Saunder on her left, and Preston stood, arms crossed, looking none the happier about this process.
“Your friends said that you live out of the country. Is that true?” Heracio asked her.
“No,” she said, and he stared down into her gorgeous blue eyes, at that long, platinum blonde hair, and he inhaled her scent. She smelled different, and it confused his wolf. He couldn’t decipher what she was besides human. She was classy though. Dressed professionally, and had this way about her that was appealing, but also made his wolf feel possessive and protective.
“So they lied?” Preston asked.
“I asked them to,” she said.
“Why?” Heracio asked.
Her lips parted, and she rubbed her palms along her lap. “I…”
“The truth! We will not tolerate lies.” Preston raised his voice.
She stared at his brother, and Preston uncrossed his arms. “What?” he asked through clenched teeth.
Her choppy breaths could be heard by all three of them, and the sound of her heart racing, but the pull to possess her grew stronger by the minute.
“You were aggressive, and in my space. It concerned me,” she said slowly, holding his gaze.
Preston shoved the table aside with one push of his foot. Her hands went to the couch as she leaned back, and Preston loomed over her. “In your space like this?” he asked as he inhaled above her. She tilted her head back, those fully luscious lips parted, her eyes blinked, and she kept lowering them in submission, but then looking back up at his brother’s eyes as she nodded her head.
He pressed his knee between her legs on the edge of the cushion. She gasped and didn’t even know that her dress lowered, revealing more deep cleavage as well as her shoulder and cream colored bra strap.
Preston stroked her cheek to her jaw, tilting it up so she stared at him. “Wolves are very sensual creatures. We want what belongs to us to be close. To be able to touch and caress, inhale, and taste what is ours,” he said, and used his thumb to manipulate her lower lip.
Preston inhaled. “You will learn to submit not to challenge,” he said, and lowered his mouth to her cheek and kissed it on the left side.
“Hmmm, not too sure about that,” she replied, sounding breathless.
He kissed her other cheek. “You will learn, mate. The easy way or the hard way, the choice is yours. But keep in mind, the hard way against an Alpha wolf could lead to some severe punishments.” He nipped her lower lip and she purred.
“Punishments?” she asked.
“Join me,” Preston said through their link.
“That cause aches of pleasure, not pain,” Heracio said as he and Saunder slid their palms along her thighs and up her dress. With Preston’s knee separating her thighs as he knelt above her, there was no escaping.
As their fingers hit her panties, she jerked. “Oh.” She moaned and came just like that. Preston kissed her lips, muffling her cries as she orgasm. She began to wiggle to try and break free, and Heracio and Saunder caressed her thighs. “Easy, mate. We aren’t going to hurt you,” Saunder said.
Preston released her lips slowly. “On the contrary, we’re just showing you how perfect you are for us, and us for you, and that once the mating process begins, and the mating musk releases, keeping your distance from us will be impossible. It will also anger us and that won’t be a good thing for you, or your backside.”
She leaned back. “I guess we’ll wait to see if that is true.”

“What do you mean a date?”
Alexandra swallowed hard, then licked her lower lip, but held her ground. Her talk with her grandmother seemed to come at the perfect time, because all the information she learned about wolves including being mated to one or more was coming to fruition.
“You do know what a date is, don’t you, Heracio?” she asked, as she stood by the upscale bar in the formal living room.
“Wolves don’t date,” he replied with an attitude.
She realized pretty quickly that these men demanded, and people complied. She could easily fall into suit like those, but where would that leave her? Fearful for her life, because she knew what wolves were capable of? Perhaps so submissive that they looked at her as below their level. Of course she wasn’t a wolf and didn’t fit into any social hierarchy of wolves, but she knew enough about what she wanted in a man. This confused her. They were wolves, there were three and they expected her to just have sex with them and let the whole mating process begin. She waited as they watched her, but then Saunder wrapped his arm around her waist.
“One date, your choice, then the next date, ours,” he said, and his words were filled with promises. She knew if she agreed, then she more than likely would be losing her virginity to these three wolves. So why did Cabernet Cable’t Goustou pop into her head and make her resistant to the connection she had with Saunder as he held her close.
She needed to get out of here and think, process this and talk to her grandmother.
“Agreed,” she whispered, and Saunder kissed her neck as he wrapped her up snugly in his arms and restrained her. As he turned her, he moved his mouth over hers and they kissed, long, tenderly, and once again his brothers joined in. Then suddenly she felt a wall being put up inside of her. The attraction, the desire got less and less and then she thought she heard a voice in her head. Do not let them control you. Don’t give in so easily.
She tightened up and moved away just as the knock on the door indicated their alone time was up.
Heracio went to answer it and Preston spoke. “Friday?” he asked her.
She was about to say yes, and then her mind sharpened, bringing her out of the funk, yet she felt like there was a pull elsewhere. Immediately she thought of the vampire and then sensed the light hug around her waist. “I can’t.”
“Alex,” he reprimanded.
“I have a gala event to go to. How is Saturday?”
“You aren’t giving us much choice,” Saunder said to her.
“Well, it’s what I have available in my schedule. I didn’t exactly come here knowing that this would happen. I need time to process it all,” she said to them.
“Process it?” Preston asked, in that tone of his.
“Yes, Preston, I need to wrap my brain around it. Now I need to go,” She said, and walked toward the table to gather her things as Elaina and her husbands entered the room.
“Are you leaving?” Elaina asked.
Alex pushed her hair over her shoulder. “I need to. I have an appointment in a little while, but please take whatever you like. I also made a copy of all the photos and put them on the thumb drive. I don’t know if the police, or, uhm, whomever you have look into these things, found that man that tried to take the child. There are pictures of him on there, as well, so feel free to do what you wish with them.”
“That’s good to know,” Comton said to her, but then looked at his sons and she could feel their eyes on her. Elaina reached her hands out to Alexandra’s.
“I can’t just take the pictures. I asked you here to create an order that I can purchase.”
“Whatever you would like to do is fine with me,” Alexandra said, and Elaina smiled, squeezed her hands and then released them.
“It was a pleasure seeing you again. Can I call you to place an order after I decide? I may need help though.”
“Of course. You have my number.”
“I’ll call Friday then,” Elaina said as Alexandra put her bag on her shoulder.
“Alex has an event Friday ev
ening to attend,” Preston said to his mother, but his eyes were on Alex.
She realized that these men, these wolves weren’t used to not having their way, and she wasn’t used to the inner tug of war that was going on inside of her body or her mind.
“Is it the fundraising gala in Dallas?” Elaina asked.
“Yes, it is,” Alexandra replied.
“We’ll be in attendance. Some of the money raised is going to the orphanage programs we’ve set up,” Elaina told her.
“Were those children with you that day part of an orphanage?” Alexandra asked.
“Yes, they are.”
Alexandra thought about how she was raised. She did have her grandmother, but if not for her, Alyssa and Alexandra would have been separated and perhaps put in an orphanage or foster care.
“Well, perhaps I will see you there then.”
“I’ll look for you, Alexandra. Thank you again for coming.”
“We’ll walk you out,” Saunder said.
She nodded and then looked at Preston and Heracio who seemed so angry and pissed at her. A deep guilty feeling filled her insides. The further she stepped away from them, the deeper that feeling got.
She walked to her car that she parked at the bottom of the driveway. She unlocked her doors and then opened the backseat and placed her bags inside. When she closed the back door, Saunder made his move, pressed her against the car, his hand on the upper frame and the other on her hip, caging her in. She tilted her head up toward him as her body tingled with awareness and desire. If she went by her gut instincts alone and didn’t let fear, or the voice of the vampire get in her way, she would give into these sensations. The safety and security, the desire and hunger bubbled inside her and felt right.
He stared down into her eyes, his height, the muscles, the whole Alpha male vibe was incredibly intimidating and exciting.
“Saunder, I need to go.”
“Not just yet. I want to give you something to think about.”
“I think I have plenty to think about.”
“Perhaps,” he said, and then moved the hand that was above her head and on the frame of the door to her neck. He lowered his lips to hers then stopped close to her lips as if waiting for her to show interest, too, and she did. She couldn’t resist, and she leaned up, pressed her mouth to his and kissed him, until their little make-out session had his one hand cupping her breast and the other about to slide up her dress to her cunt.
She turned from his lips as she pushed on his hand to stop him from moving it farther up her dress.
“Saunder.”
“Our house isn’t far from here.”
She shook her head. “Not exactly slow.”
“Alex, going slow is not an option for wolves like us. When we want something, when we know it belongs to us, or at least should belong to us, we go after it and we get it. Some wolves search forever for their mate and never find them. We found you, and the changes for all of us will be great. Together, we’ll get through all of it.” He pressed his lips to her forehead before he pulled back, and then offered his hand as he opened her door for her.
One look into those gorgeous blue eyes and she knew she would belong to them very soon. In fact, she already felt they were part of her and that this was part of her destiny.
Chapter Five
It was Friday, and two days had passed since they had seen Alex, and their wolves were on edge.
“I didn’t ask for them to be cooked like this. Do it over.” Preston raised his voice and shoved the dish to the edge of the table. It almost fell off, but one of their servants, an Omega, quickly grabbed it.
“So sorry, master. I’ll get it fixed right away,” she said, and hurried back into the kitchen. He nearly growled as he picked up the cup of coffee and went back to looking over the reports on the iPad. His brothers were none the happier.
“That’s wonderful, Alex, I look forward to seeing you again, too. Yes, I’m sure we’ll catch one another tonight at the gala,” his mom said, and Preston narrowed his eyes at her, but his heart perked up and beat double time at the mention of Alex’s name.
His father, Frame, cleared his throat as Elaina joined him and Lytes at the table while Saunder and Heracio looked at their mother, as well.
“You’re growing a beard, Heracio?” she asked, as she took a seat while the other Omega poured their mom fresh coffee. Their mom thanked her, and the other woman bowed and smiled. His mom was sincere, kindhearted and easy going. She showed somewhat of a respect toward the lower level wolves, like the Omegas and the helpers. Their fathers were more like them, stern, commanding.
“That was Alex?” Heracio asked.
“Yes,” she said, not expanding on any information or anything.
“Master.” The Omega interrupted his thoughts and placed the new plate of eggs and toast down in front of him. Her hands were shaking. He looked at her. “Thank you.”
She widened her eyes and quickly walked away.
“What was that all about?” Elaina asked.
“Nothing,” he snapped, and began to eat his food. He didn’t know why they even came over here for breakfast the last few mornings. They had their own place. Their own servants if they wanted them, but of course they refused. They were Hunters. They kept to themselves, they bowed down to no one and didn’t expect help or assistance from anyone, and they didn’t need it. He was practically growling as he ate.
“Oh, sorry, Alex said to tell you that she received the phone call from Tessa.”
They looked at one another. “And?” Saunder asked.
Their mom shrugged her shoulders, then took a bite of her toast.
“She didn’t have any other response?” Heracio asked, dropping his fork onto his plate and leaning back into his chair.
“Should she have?” Lytes asked.
“We were confirming plans for dinner,” Preston replied.
Their mom raised her eyebrows up at them. “Through a personal assistant?” Elaina asked. Lytes chuckled.
Preston had finished eating and dropped his fork. “We are Alphas, Hunters, and we don’t make phone calls to arrange dates. What wolves date?”
“Ones who are trying to win over the heart of their mate, who by the way is as far as we can tell, human,” their mother said to them.
“So we were to do what? Call her ourselves? Grovel for her to accept a time and location of our choice?” Heracio asked.
“If you want to win a woman’s heart, then she needs to know that this isn’t just protocol, that she, isn’t just protocol,” their mother said to them.
“We are Hunters of the gods, Alphas of this pack and are wolves, men who do not need to waste time courting our mate. She needs protection, she needs to accept her fate,” Preston stated firmly.
“She needs to submit to us so she knows her place by our side,” Heracio added.
“By your side? Are you certain, because it sounds more like standing, or should I say, bowing down behind you,” their mother stated.
Frame cleared his throat. “Elaina.”
She sighed.
“You’ve been away, many things have happened during the duration of your missions. It isn’t easy readjusting to the civilized society,” Frame stated.
“Oh brother. You want us to be a bunch of pups getting their first sniff of—”
“Saunder!” their mother reprimanded, and Heracio and the fathers snickered.
Preston was getting angrier and angrier. “She is a gorgeous woman, she needs protection as our mate. We can’t do that if she isn’t next to us.”
“She certainly is very attractive, and will need the protection sooner than later, so instead of being stubborn and resisting what needs to be done to appease the woman’s mind, just do it. Call her, set up a time and a place yourselves, and let her know how amazing she really is,” Elaina told them calmly.
“It’s Friday and now we don’t know if we’re on for Saturday or not,” Saunder said to her.
“She is stop
ping here tomorrow with some things I ordered. Unless you’d like to purchase tickets to this evening’s gala event?” she suggested.
Preston stood up from the table. “We have things to handle. Responsibilities to take care of. There’s no time for games,” he stated.
“There’s always time to sweep your mate off her feet,” their mom said, and then looked toward Frame and began another conversation.
Preston walked out of the room, chest puffed out, and his mind thinking of where he could be right now instead of here. Where he was with his brothers only a week ago. A living hell. He was frustrated and angry, and add in his mate not being so willing to comply, and he was really in rare form. His mother may regret inviting them to purchase tickets for the gala. Their mate’s reaction may be a different one indeed.
* * * *
“You have got to be kidding me? Seriously, Grandmother?” Alexandra was in shock. She placed her hand against her throat and tears filled her eyes.
“It was a risk, I know that Alexandra, but it was one I needed to take. You are important to this realm, you have a fight in you, a power that the gods have given you. I’m certain that the spell will break soon enough.”
“Spell? What spell?”
Her grandmother turned and sighed. “Not really sure, but whatever it is, it protects your true identity.”
“Great. Any other secrets you can reveal to me now, because learning that I have vampire blood in me, and that I am bound to the man, plus a mate to three very aggressive, demanding Alpha wolves, and also have some sort of spell over me to protect me from enemies, is way more than one woman can handle at once. What else is going to happen or be revealed to me?”
Her grandmother exhaled. “I don’t know, but the best thing to do is prepare you.”
“Prepare me? For what? To handle the power Cable’t Goustou has over my mind and my body when I’m not focused on it?”
“You’ve handled him accordingly.”
“Not really, because he seems to try and push me away from the wolves. I feel the intense attraction, I mean I like them, I miss them and feel worse each day we’re apart, but then Cable’t uses his blood that’s in me to calm me and then take my mind to work, or to him.”
